Dr. Ch. Srilatha is presently working as an Associate Professor at the Extension Education Institute (EEI), Hyderabad, a Government of India-supported organization under Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Telangana. She is an accomplished academician and extension professional with expertise in Agricultural Economics, Farm Management, Project Appraisal Techniques and Linear Programming, with a strong blend of teaching, research, extension and community engagement experience.

Dr. Srilatha was awarded the prestigious K. Meenakshi Memorial Silver Medal for securing the highest OGPA in M.Sc. (Ag.) Agricultural Economics at the 34th Annual Convocation in 2002, in recognition of her academic excellence. 

Academic and Professional Experience 

Dr. Srilatha has 14 years of teaching experience, along with one year of research and administrative experience. During her academic career, she has taught a wide range of subjects in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness Management to students pursuing B.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc. (Ag.), MBA (Agribusiness Management) and Ph.D. programmes.

Field and Extension Experience 

Dr. Srilatha has three years of field experience as an Adopted Village In-charge, where she actively contributed to capacity building, community empowerment, participatory rural development and farmer-oriented extension activities.

She also served as an NSS In-charge for seven years, contributing significantly to community service, youth development, social awareness and outreach activities. These experiences have strengthened her understanding of grassroots-level agricultural and community development and enabled her to effectively connect academic knowledge with practical field situations.

Research, Publications and Capacity Building

Dr. Srilatha has made significant contributions to research, teaching, extension education and knowledge dissemination. She has published more than 50 research papers as first and second author and has authored seven practical manuals.

She has also organized and facilitated several training programmes for women entrepreneurs, farmers, students and other stakeholders, contributing to human resource development and capacity building. In addition, she has contributed blogs through various platforms and websites, disseminating professional knowledge and practical insights to a wider audience.

Student Mentoring and Research Guidance

Dr. Srilatha has made substantial contributions to student mentoring and academic guidance. She has:

• Guided 15 undergraduate students in their project work.
• Guided 3 postgraduate research scholars in Agricultural Economics.
• Guided 10 MBA (Agribusiness Management) students.
• Served as Chairperson for one Ph.D. scholar in Agricultural Economics.
• Served as a member in guiding 15 postgraduate scholars in Agribusiness Management.
• Served as a member in guiding 2 postgraduate scholars in Agricultural Economics.

Her mentoring approach integrates academic knowledge with practical exposure, encouraging students to develop analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

Beyond her academic and professional responsibilities, Dr. Srilatha is actively associated with Heartfulness initiatives and is a committed practitioner associated with Shri Ram Chandra Mission. She played an active role in organizing the “Heartfulness – Experience Life’s Potential (HELP)” programme for students of the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU, in collaboration with the Heartfulness Education Trust, Kanha Shanti Vanam.

Her involvement in such initiatives reflects her commitment to promoting holistic well-being, emotional balance, self-development, mindfulness and positive values among students and the wider community.

She has also been a subscriber and practitioner of the Habuild Yoga programme for the past one year, reflecting her continued interest in physical fitness, mental well-being and maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
